mom and daughter weekend

I just love this picture!! Obviously it's not me and it's not my beautiful daughter, but can you just see the love? They are even looking into each others eyes, just soaking each other up! I had a wonderful weekend, just mom and daughter. We spent time just visiting with each other, girl's night out with friends, church, and even went to an art fair. My daughter is 10 years old and she is so amazing. We don't always see eye to eye, but there is no doubt that she is the apple of my eye. My husband and 9 year old son went on a father & son camping trip and it's safe to say they didn't miss our girl drama a bit! We rarely get one on one time with the kids, this is something we are working on. We are trying to spend a half hour, twice a week, with each kid. We are even scheduling it into our week. How sad that we have to actually schedule it!! We do a good job with family time, but there is nothing like one on one time and the kids just eat this up. How nice to not have to share mom and dad, how nice to just soak each other up!

  1. You're creating some of the best memories for your children! Kids need their parents time these days and you see it happening less and less. They will be forever grateful!

  2. You're so right Jodi!! The busyness of life often times don't allow one on one time with each child, let alone family time. I can only imagine how large families do it. Lord bless them!!

  4. Jill! Thanks for visiting today, I'm glad Bev 'sent' you. How fun that we are sister's in Christ are able to share like this. Yes, I am a Catholic and an artist and nature lover too...I think we'll have lots in common to enjoy...The photo above is lovely....I didn't notice that the dolls eyes were turned toward the child...I love dolls and was so glad my daughter did too...they can be such good teachers and friends. Blessings on you you and your family today. I'll be visiting again soon.

  5. Sometimes I forget that my boys need one on one time with their Mom (and Dad). I have used "30 minutes alone time with Mom or Dad" as a reward choice in the past. My boys would choose that over other rewards and were just so excited about that alone time.
